Most people under estimate just how funny Canadians really are. In fact American comedy is mostly Canadaian humor, heres a few examples, Jim Carey, Leslie Neielsen, Loren Micheals, (SNL), Steve Martin, John Candy, Tom Green, Howie Mandel and Scarborough Onatrio native Mike Myers. Scarborough is also home to a really good and often funny rapper, Dan-E-O, the video below came out in 96 on the Rap Essentials album.
Dan is also part of the Monolith crew, T Dots answer to NYCs Stronghold emcees, check the video, more classic Canadian humor.

Dulce
Steph "Dulce" Ortiz does not have a face for radio, although that is where most people will be familiar with as the host of the La Kalle morning show. Good thing she is now a host for American Latino TV
, because not only is Miss Dulce easy on the eyes but she is very funny, peep the video below, if you can recognize her. See the rest of the story in the next Kicksclusive "Ladies of th Sneaker Game".

Watchin' you.
In 1998 the New York Civil Liberties Union mapped Manhattan finding 2,400 surveillance cameras, a figured believed to have tripled according the NYCLU. What are they watching? Graf writers? Pickpockets? Bank robbers? And who is doing all the watching? Peep this really interesting article on Notbored.com

Smif N' Wessun
The other day I was listening to Da' Shinin' when I realized that the album is 13 years old, and it's still in my regular rotation. Tek and Steele's latest offering "The Album" is really dope, you can read all about it the next issues of Kicksclusive and Clout Magazines, words courtesy of RePH Star.

Bigger
Was thinking about that song by Atmosphere, "Guns and Cigarettes" when I made this.
Rappers steppin' to me
They wanna get some
But most of them should go and try to boost their monthly income
Speaking over beats is the only time I feel complete
I don't hear the weak and I don't fear defeat
So what you got?
Connect the dots, I'll raise the pot
Remove the blood clot from the brain of hip hop
The name remains in tip-top shape
I'm still the back rapper scapegoat in the aim of their hate
I came in late, took a chair in the rear
But my classmates were unaware how long I'd really been there
My peers have been held back for years, holding back the tears
Everybody knows our name like we was the cast from "Cheers"
So here's to the good times, tonight is mighty special
So fasten your seatbelts, cause I'm gonna launch this vessel
Ain't gonna land until I'm bigger than Espo
And bigger than ecstasy and bigger than techno
I wanna bigger than Jesus and bigger than wrestling
Bigger than the Beatles and bigger than breast implants
I'm gonna be the biggest thing to hit these little kids
Bigger than guns, bigger than cigarettes
-Slug "Guns and Cigarettes"

Big city
These are a couple a pieces I worked on this weekend, among other things of course,
I watched Snakes on a Plane, and I also deleted 40 gigs of music from my ipod. But I'm over it, its not the first time, I had it all backed up, well most of it.

DL Incognito
It's been said that in 1857 when Queen Victoria was asked to choose a common capital of the province of Canada, she did so by sticking her hat pin roughly between Toronto and Montreal. Ottawa is also where DL Incognito is from, but has since moved to Toronto, obviously a Leafs fan. Dude can rap, check this video for proof.

Saigon
There is a phrase in the industry when dealing with artists -- "rapper time," see you at 6 means I'll be almost ready by 9. Saigon showed up on time for our shoot, well 15 minutes late or something, but the Pier can be a hassle. Dude was mad friendly and stayed as long as we asked. Check for a Patty Dukes interview in the next issue of Kicksclusive, or to see more now, peep this. Saigon can really rap, and his album is going to be dope, with Just Blaze on the boards on just about every track, should be something to look forward to.
